What is Giving Day?
Giving Day is an annual 24-hour online giving event. It is an opportunity to come together to provide the resources needed for all our students. Your gift, no matter the size, will impact our students and campus.
Can I give through my donor advised fund?
If you would like to make a gift through a donor advised fund, stock, etc., please email us at givingday@chapman.edu so we can add your gift to our count. Please include if you would like your names added to the virtual donor wall, the total gift amount, and the expected date that it will be in.
Has this been done before?
Yes, this is Chapman's seventh Giving Day. We continue to be inspired by the support of our Chapman Family.
What is the goal of Giving Day?
Our goal is to surpass 1,000 gifts. Your gift, no matter the amount, will make a collective impact. Every dollar counts!
Are there Giving Day challenges and matches?
Yes. We will have matches and challenges throughout the day on April 10.
Can I sponsor a match or challenge?
Yes, we would love to speak with you. Please email us at givingday@chapman.edu
What areas can I support on Giving Day?
Giving Day donations will make a difference through the Chapman Fund, the university’s unrestricted fund. Gifts to other university funds are always accepted and appreciated, but will not count toward our Giving Day totals.
Can I give more than once?
Of course! Every gift makes a difference and helps us reach our goal on April 10.
What is the Chapman Fund?
On Giving Day, your gift will go directly to the Chapman Fund, the university's unrestricted fund. Your donation is used immediately and ensures we can:
Provide scholarship and financial aid to our students
Provide funding for classroom support, technology needs, and research opportunities
Provide for the health and well-being of every student. Enable the university to be responsive to critical and unprecedented needs.

Is it safe to make a gift online?
Yes. Chapman takes significant measures to ensure that all donor information is safe and secure.
Can I make a gift by mail or by phone?
Yes. You have the option to mail in your donation (One University Drive, Orange CA 92866) or to call our office at (714) 628-2834. However, if possible we encourage you to make your gift online through our website.
Will I get a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes. However, sometimes the automatic emailed receipt goes to the spam folder. If you cannot find it in spam, please email us and we will happily provide you one (givingday@chapman.edu). We will also send a mailed receipt for all gifts over $250.
Will my contribution be tax-deductible?
Yes. Receipts are issued for all gifts to Chapman University over $250 on Giving Day. If you itemize your taxes, the receipt is a confirmation that it is a qualified charitable deduction.
What is a Giving Day Ambassador?
A Chapman Giving Day Ambassador is a campus alum, parent, friend, faculty, or staff member that helps spread the word and engage their network to participate during Chapman’s Giving Day. Different forms of engagement include posting on your social media accounts, re-sharing Chapman’s Giving Day social media posts throughout the day, making a donation of any size on Giving Day, and encouraging your network to do the same!
